Champions for Children launched its Giyani chapter in April 2019 at Dzumeri village, where 192 Community Health Workers (CHWs) from nine health facilities were in attendance.
The event was held to honour our everyday heroes – CHWs – and the vital work they do in educating communities and protecting children from stunting.
CHWs were given a growth monitoring activity; 167 of them completed it successfully and were on boarded to the programme thereafter. Also at the event was the chief of Dzumeri, who acknowledged the important role played by CHWs in our health system as well as officials from the Limpopo Department of Health.
We wish all the new C4C members well on their journey of growing greatness and helping South Africa achieve zero stunting by 2030!
